Unveiling of U.S. post office Mambo Stamp-Mambo Night
The Miami Beach Arts Trust presented:
“ Mambo Night,” Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005 / a miami salsa event
to celebrate the unveiling of the U.S. Post Office “Mambo Stamp” by local artist, Sergio Baradat. The event was held from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, 2000 Convention Center Drive in Miami Beach.
The event was free and open to the public.
The program began with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail time, with "Mambo Tapas" by Diane Cooks followed by an interactive discussion on the history, culture and style of Mambo, with the legendary Mambo dancer, Cuban Pete. Artist Baradat talked about his work and how his mambo stamp design became a part of the stamp series "Let's Dance/Bailemos."
The Salsabor Tropical Dance Company then presented a mambo demonstration and instruction, inviting the audience to mambo (7:30-9:30 p.m.). Mambo music provided by WDNA Community Public Radio.

Mambo Night was part of the MBAT "Brown Bag, Evening Bag" series for building awareness for local artists, arts venues, and issues of interested in the arts.

United Salseros Dancing & Partying For A Good Cause
In Loving Memory of Vilmarie Nixon a.k.a."Villie".

This was a full day event held at Congas Night Club, with workshops, dancing, and shows to raise funds for villie's medical expenses.
The event was put together for the entire community to unite and help someone in need, "Villie". She was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia, and needed a bone marrow transplant. Many people attended and took part in this event. All of the people involved in making this event happen donated their talent and time to make this event possible. Villie's family thank you for all your support, cooperation and donations.
Villie was Tony Duarte' sister in-law. Tony was able to organize this event with the support of friends & colleagues including all the DJs and Instructors. Thank you to all.

Salsa Mambo Workshop with Bernard Martinez
Fort Lauderdale salsa event. On Friday August 29th 2003 - SALSABOR TROPICAL Hosted a Special Intermediate level Salsa-Mambo Workshop with Bernard Martinez, who is a choreographer, coach, performer and instructor of salsa/mambo, cha-cha and theater arts. Bernard specializes in New York style men & ladies styling, partnering and shines. Bernard is the founder and director of "Mambo Caliente Nights" in NYC.
The workshop was held at the Meridien in Hollywood, Fl from (8:30pm-10:00pm), after the workshop there was a whole night of Salsa-Mambo dancing.

Broward County Children's Cultural Arts Festival
Funded by The Broward County Cultural Arts Council. On Saturday October 5th, 2002; Salsabor Tropical taught and performed Salsa/Mambo for children and adults at "A Place to Grow" Preschool. 2250 SW 31 Ave., Ft. Lauderdale. There were shows presented by the following performers. Drums of Polynesia, Gold Coast Music Therapy, Musica venture, Jazz Slam Music, Once upon a story, Accordion Player, and Salsabor Tropical.
Boricua.com Food Drive
Boricua.com, in association with the Daily Bread Food Bank, ran a Food Drive on October 18, 2002 at the Meridien Night Club in Hollywood, Fl; It began at 9:00 PM with Tony Duarte from Salsabor Tropical teaching a "Free" N. Y. / P. R. style Salsa/Mambo on "2" dance lesson. After the free lesson everyone enjoyed the best Salsa, and Merengue with DJ Elliott. Suggested Donation were two cans of food for the Daily Bread Food Bank. Boricua.com was there to meet and greet everyone who attended. Plenty of photos were taken and posted on Boricua.com. Thank you for supporting our First Ever Food Drive.
